Clouds in the fast lane

We are on the way to Syabrubesi, the starting point of our trekking trip to the Langtang Valley. I drive the winding road along, high up on the steep slopes of a ridge with magnificent views of the thousands of fields in terrace construction. Then I notice the speeding-cloud from far down shooting towards me.

We do not know what is happening to us as the first of these kamikaze cloud reached the height of the road. The cloud envelops us completely and I almost must stop Fridolin due of the poor visibility. We just drove out of that cloud and see the next one in the deep racing towards us with a break necking speed. And again, we are enveloped in a sudden fog. A rather unique spectacle how the thermals forces pull up the low-lying clouds. :)

The road

Not only the clouds are mad, also the road is very, shall we say kindly, "interesting". Although it is built much better than three years ago, but also this time we count thousands of curves, passing through some muddy landslides and find our way in small streams in order to finally reach our destination after 8 hours.

Co-Driver

After our lunch stop with a fantastic Dal Bath (Nepalese traditional dish: rice, vegetable curry, lentil soup, and hot/sour chili sauce), we got a new passenger.

Grandpa was riding on a slow truck before, but then saw the chance for a quicker ride home with Fridolin. We made space for our new guest who almost immediately fall into a comfortably and peaceful sleep. :)
