... a country full of terrorists!

And of course, it is not like this ... not at all. I hope, with my following posts, I can shake a bit on the fixed "western" image of this beautiful country.

Be open for my honest reports, dive into the land of unlimited hospitality, the land of breathtaking nature, historic cities and do not forget welcome to heaven for all land cruiser drivers. Immerse yourself into fantastic Pakistan.

WELCOME TO MY BELOVED PAKISTAN

But first things first, because first we have to slip across the border in time before it is closed with drum and trumpet.

Wagha Border Ceremony

Coughing I hand the sisha (water pipe) back to the custom officer and finally the power is back and the Immigration can start up there computers to enter our personalities, take photos, etc... We realize suddenly that it is now over with the Indian's rush. Everything here is more leisurely, it remains always time for a cup of "chai" (sweetened milk tea) and "Inshallah" later everything will be fine. :)

And so it is. The cars we park right at the customs house for the night and we stroll back to the border or should I better say we walk into the border-stadium. The ranks on both sides, the Indian and Pakistani are filled already. In Pakistan, men and women are separated of course. On the one hand, the predominantly white crowd of men where we have found our place, on the other a colorful sea of veiled and unveiled women. In the immediate vicinity of the border a lot of so called VIP's find there places.

Just in time the daily border-closing ceremony starts. The Pakistani flag-wavers are also the animators and heat up the crowd with their powerful slogans. From the other side, we hear similar cheering from the Indian audience.

The first soldiers finely step onto the dance floor. The following 40 minutes ceremony offers us a show of superlatives. With goose-steps, various "exercises" are stepped on the tarmac until finally the border is closed and the flags are pulled in. The "dance" with absolute military precision looks for us quite hilarious. A unique ceremony that is unrivaled. Chapeau!
